Naltrexone is primarily an opioid antagonist with greatest affinity for mu- and kappa-opioid receptors in humans. It demonstrates efficacy for multiple SUDs use.  This lecture reviews the behavioral and neural mechanisms of naltrexone, its clinical efficacy, and strategies for selecting p[atients that can benefit most from naltrexone.
